To create a news post you simply have to click the top bar of the Feed with the text “Create News”. From there you can add a title, a body and upload a file or picture to the news post.
Read confirmation means that other users have to acknowledge that they have read your news post. To do this, they simply click on the "clock" icon in the bottom of the news post stating "I have read this news".
You can decided whether not your colleagues can comment on your news post. If you enable comments you can comment the news post by clicking on the text box in the bottom of the news post starting "Write a comment".
Who to share the news post with
When you are creating a news post you can decide who you want to share the news post with. Initially, you can decide if the news post should be visible to all units. If you want to share the news post with specific units you simply untick the "Visible to all units" option and thereafter choose which units you want to share the news with. However, you might only be able to share the news post within your own unit if you are on a low level of the organisation's hierarchy. Thereafter, you can also choose which user types you want to share the news post with. To do this you simply click the "Select user types" drop down and choose your desired user types.
When you are done creating a news post you can publish the post by clicking the blue box stating "Publish". You also have the option to set a publish time by clicking the arrow right next to the "Publish" option. Here you can choose a date and time that you want the news post to be published. You can also save a news post as a draft, thereby you have the option to save the news post and return to it later.
Working with a draft
Once you have saved a news post as a draft you will be able to find it by heading to the news feed, expanding the filters and enable "show news". Doing so will lead Ziik to expand a drop down menu, from which you can select "Drafts". If you enable this option you will be able to see all the drafts you have previously seen.
All you have to do in order to publish one of your drafts is to click the little arrow below where it tells you when you created the draft. Then you simply have to click "edit" and you will once again be back in the news post editor.
If you feel ready to post your post go down to the bottom of the editor where you will find the "save draft" button. Just like you did when you saved the draft you now have to press the little arrow. This time, however, you will select "publish" from the menu. Your news post will now be posted to the news feed.
How to use the publishing time feature
As is outlined above, you are able to time your posts by using Ziik's publishing time feature. After you have set your news post to be published at certain point in time you are also able to go back and make changes to both the post itself and its publishing date and time – you can even decide to publish the post straight-away.
The process to finding it is the same as it is for finding your drafts. Go to your feed, expand the filters on the right, enable "show news" and, finally, enable "drafts". You will now be shown all the posts you have either saved as drafts or that you have scheduled for later. In order to now edit your post you simply have to do as we did when we wanted to edit a draft. That is, you have to click the little arrow below where it tells you when you saved your post and select edit from the menu.
